  • Biography

    Born in rural Illinois in a farming environment, Dr. Sutor went to Colorado College for an undergraduate degree in Biology, then on to Emory University for medical school. She moved to Dallas, Texas for residency training in anatomic and clinical pathology at UT Southwestern, which included a concentrated year of training in transfusion medicine and blood banking.  Dr. Sutor joined the faculty at UT Southwestern after graduation, first as the associate blood bank director at Parkland Hospital, then joining Carter BloodCare, the community blood center, as their contracted medical director. She is currently Vice President of Medical and Technical Services at Carter BloodCare, as well as a medical director at Transplant Services Center, the eye and tissue bank for UT Southwestern. Dr. Sutor has a wide variety of interests that include resident and fellow education, laboratory management and administration,  blood donation and collection issues, apheresis, and hematopoietic progenitor cell collection and processing.
