Biography
Dr. Avila is originally from Mexico and received her medical degree at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of New Mexico while finishing both the primary care and hospitalist tracks. Given her motivation to treat the patient as a whole, she ultimately decided on primary care and pursued an ambulatory chief year. She is excited to come back to UT Southwestern as faculty and to start her practice in Dallas. Her clinical interests include musculoskeletal disorders, headaches, chronic wound management, and integrative medicine. Besides practicing medicine, Dr. Avila enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and running.
