Biography
Shuzhen Liu, Ph.D., is an Instructor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
Originally from China, Dr. Liu holds a bachelor's degree in microbiology from Shanxi University in China. She earned a master's degree in biochemistry and molecular biology at the Institute of Microbiology Chinese Academy of Sciences. She then earned her doctoral degree at the University of Rostock and Leibniz Institute for Farm Animal Bioogy in Germany. She complerted postdoctoral training in cell biology and molecular biology at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
Dr. Liu joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2016 as an Assistant Instructor in the Department of Molecular Biology. She was promoted to Instructor in 2018 and then joined the Department of Internal Medicine as an Instructor in 2020.
Dr. Liu's research interests are farm animal biology, necroptosis, and microbiology.
