  • Adriano Silva, Ph.D. — The Reese Lab

    Adriano is an Assistant Instructor in the Reese lab and his research focuses on determining the helminth-driven long-lasting functional changes in large peritoneal macrophages. Adriano was born in Salvador, Brazil where he received his Ph.D. in Immunology. As a researcher in Brazil, he investigated mycobacterial lipid-induced host cell responses and sought to identify new cell and molecular markers for diagnosis and prognosis of tuberculosis. Adriano enjoys doing outdoor activities as hiking and biking.

  • Vibha Singh, Ph.D. — The Reese Lab

    Vibha Singh received her Ph.D. degree in the area of chemokines & toll like receptor gene variants in bladder cancer from King George’s Medical University, India. Her previous postdoc work was on TLK-NEK1 kinase signaling, and application of small molecule inhibitors in prostate cancer. Currently, her research in Reese’s lab focuses on understanding the mechanism of p62 mediated viral autophagy. In her free time, Vibha enjoys watching movies, traveling, blogging, and random photography.

    Tyron Chang started graduate school at UTSW in September 2017 after 2 years in the Reese lab as a technician. (pictured in the group photo) Alex Lowe was our lab manager for 5 years and is now in graduate school at UTSW (August 2020). (pictured in the group photo) Lili Tao M.D., Ph.D. joined the Medical Microbiology fellowship program at Vanderbilt in November 2020. Madison Roberts, a technician in the Reese lab for 2 years, started graduate school at UTSW in August 2022. Amritha Achuthkumar, Ph.D. started a new adventure in Pennsylvania after 2 years as a Postdoc in the Reese lab. Josephine Thinwa, MD, PhD now has her own lab at UTSW in Infectious Diseases! Zhongju Zou is a research scientist in Dr. Thinwa’s lab. Christina Zarek, Ph.D. started a postdoctoral position at BioStone in Dallas after graduating from UTSW! Guoxun Wang, Ph.D. has started his own laboratory at Shenzhen Bay Laboratories! Irene Hau is now a graduate student at UTSW.

  • Tiffany A. Reese, Ph.D. — The Reese Lab

    Tiffany studied Biology at Brown University, before attending the University of California San Francisco for her graduate work. While at UCSF in Dr. Richard Locksley's lab she studied how chitin promotes inflammation. For her postdoctoral fellowship she was in Herbert “Skip” Virgin’s lab at Washington University, where she identified a role for parasite co-infection in herpesvirus reactivation and latency. In April of 2015 Tiffany joined the Departments of Immunology and Microbiology as an Endowed Scholar at UTSW. She was named a Pew Scholar in 2018. Tiffany is the proud mom of 2 boys. In her free time she loves to garden, exercise and read.
