  • Biography

Sadaf Charania, M.P.A.S., PA-C, is a board-certified Physician Assistant (PA) who earned a Bachelor of Radiologic Sciences and gained experience as a CT/MRI technologist prior to starting PA school. She then earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at UNT Health Science Center in 2013. Before joining UT Southwestern, she worked as a hospitalist PA at Parkland Memorial Hospital, where she gained invaluable experience and knowledge of internal medicine specialties while collaborating closely with consultants.

Her passion for medical oncology brought her to the Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center (SCCC) in 2017 where she worked inpatient with the hematology/oncology solid tumor team.  In 2020, she worked with key SCCC stakeholders to successfully open the first ambulatory oncology acute care clinic which provides management of acute illnesses to oncology patients with a goal to reduce Emergency Department (ED) utilization. She also worked with multidisciplinary teams to develop evidence-based clinical pathways for acute care clinic to address frequently presenting chief complaints in the ED. These clinical pathways were then created as order sets in the electronic medical record. Over the years she has also immensely enjoyed precepting several Physician Assistant and Nurse Practitioner students.
