Biography Mambarambath Jaleel, M.D., is a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Board certified in Pediatrics and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine; he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2007. Dr. Jaleel completed his medical school training and pediatric residency in India. After completing a fellowship in neonatology at The Canberra Hospital and University of Sydney in Australia and becoming a Member of the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health of the United Kingdom in London, England, he moved to the United States. He completed an additional fellowship in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at Women & Infants Hospital and Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Dr. Jaleel currently serves as Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs for the Department of Pediatrics, aligning the clinical mission of the Department with the operations of Children's Health, Parkland Hospital, Clements University Hospital, THR Dallas and Frisco, and Texas Scottish Rite. He collaborates with institutional leaders to develop support systems for clinical providers and build a talented workforce to meet clinical needs and expansion of clinical programs. Previously, Dr. Jaleel served as the Associate Chief for Clinical Affairs for the Division of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine from 2016-2024, overseeing the clinical operations at the five neonatal intensive care units (NICU) affiliated to the Division. Additionally, Dr. Jaleel has served as the Medical Director for Parkland Hospital’s NICU (2009-2024), creating a unique neonatal quality program and a culture of quality improvement with a diverse platform of ongoing structured quality improvement projects. These projects have been presented at various quality improvement forums, won honors and accolades for the institution, and led to multiple publications. Dr. Jaleel also created “NeoSource,” an intranet-based platform with neonatal clinical practice guidelines, policies, and clinical algorithms that serves as a resource for more than 500 healthcare providers across five hospitals, to standardize the practice of neonatal medicine.
