Colleen Sam, M.D., M.P.H. Assistant Professor School Medical School Department Internal Medicine Biography Colleen Sam, M.D., M.P.H., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Division of General Internal Medicine. She is the Section Chief of General Internal Medicine at the North Texas VA Health Care System in Dallas. Originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, Dr. Sam holds bachelor's degrees in biochemistry, microbiology, and pharmacology and completed her medical degree at the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa. She completed internal medicine residency training and a fellowship in general internal medicine at Boston University and later earned a master's degree in public health. Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Sam joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2013. She left in 2013 to work at Arlington Memorial Hospital, before rejoining the faculty in 2020. Dr. Sam is a member of the Society of General Internal Medicine, the American College of Physicians, and the Association of Chiefs and Leaders of General Internal Medicine.
