  • Biography

    Richard Batz, M.D., is a Clinical Associate Professor of Radiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center and Associate Chief of its Community Radiology Division. He provides clinical imaging services at William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital and specializes in body imaging. 

    Dr. Batz holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin and earned his medical degree at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in El Paso. He completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, and received advanced training in musculoskeletal radiology and body imaging through fellowship programs at the Hospital for Special Surgery and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, respectively.

    Dr. Batz serves on several committees at UT Southwestern, including the Performance Improvement Committee and the Medical School Advisory Interview Committee. His commitment to patient safety is demonstrated by his active involvement in the Computed Tomography (CT) Dose Reduction Committee and service on the Board of Directors for the Louise H. Batz Patient Safety Foundation.

    He is also a member of national and international professional organizations including the Radiological Society of North America, the American Roentgen Ray Society, the American College of Radiology, and the Texas Medical Association.
