Biography

Dr. Storey earned his medical degree (1995) at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons and completed his internal medicine residency (1998) and infectious diseases fellowship (2000) at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium. After serving as chief of infectious diseases at Keesler Air Force Base and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, he completed his active duty military service and moved to Texas to join Dallas ID Associates in 2004.

Dr. Storey developed an interest in antimicrobial stewardship during his time in private practice which has included hands on experience with program implementation at multiple facilities. In recognition of his work on stewardship in the community, he was invited to speak at the Texas ID Society and the DFW Hospital Council Foundation. Dr. Storey has also served as the physician lead for stewardship at Baylor Scott & White Health and has been a member of the Dallas County Medical Society Infection Prevention and Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee.

In 2019, he joined the VA North Texas Healthcare System as antimicrobial stewardship director and the UTSW faculty.

Dr. Storey’s interests outside of medicine include spending time with his family, baseball, reading history, and train travel.
