Abu Taher Minhajuddin, Ph.D. Professor School School of Public Health Department Public Health | Psychiatry Biography Download Curriculum Vitae Dr. Minhajuddin is a Professor in the Peter O'Donnell Jr. School of Public Health and the Department of Psychiatry. He received his PhD in Statistical Science from Southern Methodist University. He joined UT Southwestern in 2004 and have worked with clinician researchers in many areas of clinical research. He was the biostatistician for the biggest NIH funded clinical trial (n = 523) comparing cognitive behavioral therapy to pharmacotherapy. He also contributed to the design of the 2nd round of Dallas Heart Study. Over the years, he worked with clinician scientists in the Department of Internal Medicine, Anestheiology and Pain Management, and Psychiatry in designing, and analyzing data resulting data from randomized clinical trials, cohort studies, and observational studies. Currently he is the Statistics and Data Team lead for Texas Youth Depression and Suicide Reseach Network (TX-YDSRN). Dr. Minhajuddin supervised masters and PhD research projects for students, and served on NIH study sections for neurological disorders and substance use disorders. He also served as a member of the data and safety monitoring committee for a number of clinical trials. Dr. Minhajuddin is an active member of American Statistical Association and was the vice president of the North Texas Chapter of ASA in 2012. He served on editorial boards and serves as ad-hoc reviewer for a number of clinical and statistical journals. Dr. Minhajuddin has over 150 peer reviewed publications in top-tier journals such as American Journal of Psychiatry, Journal of the AMerican Medical Association, and Anesthesiology. His research interests include longitudinal data analysis, machine learning, categorical data analysis, latent class modeling, and supervised and unsupervised learning.
