Ibrahim Ibrahim, M.D.

Ibrahim Ibrahim, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Division of Hematology and Oncology. His clinical interests include thrombosis, hemostasis, and thrombocytopenic disorders.

Originally from Aqaba, Jordan, Dr. Ibrahim holds a bachelor’s degree in bioengineering from Rice University in Houston, Texas. He received his medical degree from UT Southwestern, where he remained to complete internal medicine residency training and fellowship training in hematology and oncology.

Prior to joining the UT Southwestern faculty in 2018, he was an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at Houston Methodist Hospital in the Texas Medical Center.

He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Medical Oncology.

Dr. Ibrahim’s research interests in blood disorders have resulted in multiple peer-reviewed publications and two book chapters, as well as presentations at professional and scientific conferences.

At UT Southwestern, Dr. Ibrahim serves as the director of the Non-Malignant Hematology Program, and as medical director of the Blood Disorders Clinic. He also serves as medical director of Parkland Hospital’s Benign Hematology Clinic.

His committee service includes UT Southwestern’s Pharmacy & Therapeutic Committee, on which he chairs the Anticoagulation Subcommittee and the Data and Safety Monitoring Committee of the Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Dr. Ibrahim is actively involved in several professional organizations, including the American Society of Hematology and the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis.

Personal Note

During his free time, Dr. Ibrahim enjoys spending time with his family, playing tennis, reading, and traveling.
