Biography Vivek Patel, M.D., is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Division of Hospital Medicine. He also serves as Chief of Hospital Medicine at Parkland Memorial Hospital. Originally from Norristown, Pennsylvania, Dr. Patel holds a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering from Texas A&M University in College Station. He earned his medical degree and completed internal medicine residency training at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Patel joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2010. At Parkland Hospital, Dr. Patel serves as Chair of the Peer Review Oversight Committee. Dr. Patel is a member of the Society of Hospital Medicine.
