  • Biography

    Alka Mallik, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Division of Hematology and Oncology. She specializes in lymphoma and lung, breast, and colon cancers.

    Dr. Mallik holds a bachelor's degree in biological sciences with a minor in history from Stanford University in Stanford, California. She earned her medical degree at UT Southwestern, where she also completed internal medicine residency training. She then gained advanced training through a fellowship program in hematology and medical oncology at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, where she served as Chief Fellow and also participated in translational research into lymphoma therapeutics in the Melnick Lab.

    Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in hematology and medical oncology, Dr. Mallik joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2022.

    Dr. Mallik’s clinical and primary research interests include malignant and benign hematology, including hemostasis and thrombosis. She has served as an investigator on several clinical trials, given lectures on internal medicine for residents and medical students, and published peer-reviewed academic articles related to her areas of expertise. She is also dedicated to undergraduate and graduate medical education. 

    Dr. Mallik is an active member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology.

    Personal Note

    Outside of medicine, Dr. Mallik enjoys photography and travel. She is fluent in Hindi.
