William Goette, Ph.D., is a clinical neuropsychologist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He earned his Ph.D. in clinical psychology (2023) and completed his postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology (2025) at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Clinically, Dr. Goette provides neuropsychological consult services for Clements University Hospital and sees patients through UT Southwestern's outpatient neuropsychology clinic. His clinical approach integrates health psychology with neuropsychology to promote healthy aging by addressing the interplay of physical, cognitive, and psychological well-being.

Dr. Goette's research focuses on the development of new psychometric methods and assessment measures that can improve the early detection of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. At the core of this research is the development of methods that promote precision-based, personalized interpretation of cognitive test performance. To date, this work has primarily focused on psychometric approaches to operationalize and quantify the cognitive (and idiosyncratic) processes underlying traditional test scores.
