  • Biography

    Aya J. Alame, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. She is board certified in Dermatology and Dermatopathology. Dr. Alame completed her medical degree at UT Southwestern Medical School, graduating with Distinction in Research, and earned her undergraduate degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Harvard College, with a minor in Global Health and Health Policy.

    Dr. Alame completed her dermatology residency at UT Southwestern, where she served as Chief Resident, followed by fellowship training in dermatopathology at ProPath. Her clinical and research interests include dermatopathology, inflammatory and complex dermatologic diseases, skin of color, and translational research. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and is actively involved in resident education, leadership, and service to underserved populations through longstanding volunteer work with Agape Dermatology Clinic.
