Hirczy, M.D., specializes in movement disorders including Parkinson’s disease, tremor, dystonia, and other movement disorders. Clinical Interests: His interests include management of a wide range of movement disorders with focus on alpha-synucleinopathies such as Parkinson's disease, Multiple Systems Atrophy, and Dementia with Lewy Bodies. He provides botulinum toxin injections and participates in the evaluation and management of interventional therapies such as Deep Brain Stimulation and MR-guided focused ultrasound (MFgFUS) ablation. Research: Dr. Hirczy is interested in clinical research. His focus is on the application and integration of technology for the diagnosis and management of movement disorders. He conducts research on digital biomarkers of Parkinson’s disease, and specifically evaluates the use of smart watches and virtual reality devices to detect motor and non-motor manifestations. Additionally, he is interested in the use of electrical and magnetic stimulation as a treatment for various movement disorders. He has published and presented at national and international meetings, and he serves on the steering committee of The International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society Technology Study Group. Background: Dr. Hirczy earned his medical degree and completed neurology residency at the University of Texas Southwestern. After residency, he completed a two-year fellowship in Movement Disorders at the VA Puget Sound and the University of Washington. Dr. Hirczy is certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).
