Biography Jeffrey Waugh, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2017. Dr. Waugh earned his medical degree at UT Southwestern Medical School in 2007. Following a year-long internship at UT Southwestern, he completed a residency in pediatrics at UT Southwestern/Children’s Medical Center followed by a residency in pediatric neurology at Harvard Medical School/Boston Children’s Hospital. In 2014, Dr. Waugh completed a fellowship in pediatric movement disorders at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Waugh’s research focuses on pediatric and adult movement disorders, with an emphasis on developing methods for brain imaging in inherited neurological diseases. One recent project involves developing an imaging tool for identifying the striosome and matrix compartments in living human.
