Biography Henry Quinones, M.D., is a Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Division of Nephrology. Originally from Ponce, Puerto Rico, Dr. Quinones earned his medical degree at the University of Puerto Rico in San Juan, where he also received internal medicine residency training. He then obtained advanced training by completing clinical and research nephrology fellowships at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in nephrology, Dr. Quinones joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2002. Dr. Quinones serves as Medical Director of the Acute Dialysis Unit at Parkland Health. He previously served as Medical Director of the Glomerulonephritis Clinic, the Chronic Kidney Disease Clinic, and the Renal Clinics at Parkland Health. He is also part of the Peritoneal Dialysis initiative work group. Dr. Quinones's clinical interests include nephrology, kidney diseases, and outpatient dialysis. He has contributed to the creation of another funding resource to assure outpatient dialysis coverage via the Dallas County Indigent Care Corporation. Dr. Quinones is a member of the Performance Improvement Committee, the Dialysis Workgroup, and the New Parkland Hospital Planning Committee at UT Southwestern. Dr. Quinones is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Society of Nephrology. Dr. Quinones's research interests include chronic kidney disease and dialysis efforts. His research has led to several clinical trial activities, peer-reviewed publications, and invited lectures.
