  • Biography

    Lanna Felde, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Division of Hospital Medicine, where she also serves as Faculty Development Director.

    Originally from Plano, Dr. Felde holds a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Texas at Austin. As an undergraduate, she studied abroad in Mexico, shadowing in the public hospital and studying at the University of Guadalajara where she discovered her passion for minority health and health disparities. She earned her medical degree at the University of Texas at San Antonio and concurrently completed a master's degree in public health at the UT Health Science Center in Houston. She received internal medicine residency training at UT Southwestern.

    Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Felde joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2018.

    Dr. Felde's academic interests include faculty development, mentorship, and utilizing digital media for medical education. She served as Digital Media Fellow for the Journal of Hospital Medicine in 2021-2022. She currently directs the hospital medicine elective for internal medicine residents. Her work has led to publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at national conferences. She also acts as an ad hoc reviewer for the Journal of Hospital Medicine and the British Medical Journal.

    Outside of medicine, Dr. Felde enjoys exercise, travel, and parenting her two young sons.
