  • Biography

    Lanna Felde, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Division of Hospital Medicine at Parkland Health, where she also serves as Director of Faculty Development. Her clinical interests include minority health and health disparities, clinical practice guideline development, and improving the quality of inpatient care.

    Originally from Houston, Dr. Felde holds a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Texas at Austin and a master's degree in public health from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. She earned her medical degree at the University of Texas at San Antonio and completed internal medicine residency training at UT Southwestern. Fluent in Spanish, she also served as a translator at Parkland Health. 

    Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Felde joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2018.

    Dr. Felde's research interests include error reporting among residents, herpes simplex virus associated acute liver failure, inpatient management of alcohol withdrawal, and intersection of systemic health with periodontal disease. Her investigations have led to publications in peer-reviewed journals and has served as an ad hoc reviewer for the British Medical Journal and the Journal of Hospital Medicine. In addition, she has presented her findings at scientific conferences.

    Dr. Felde is active in several professional societies, including the Society of General Internal Medicine and the Center for Reproductive Rights. She has been a Supporting Women Achieving Greatness (SWAG) committee member since 2021, and most recently joined the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE) after earning a certificate in Inspiring Inquiry and Preparing Lifelong Learners.

    Outside of medicine, Dr. Felde loves to exercise, cook, travel with her husband and hang out with her miniature schnauzer.
