Biography Angela Rogers, M.D., M.P.H., is a Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern and Chief of its Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. She holds a bachelor's degree in philosophy from Manchester College, where she graduated magna cum laude. She earned her medical degree from Harvard Medical School. She completed internal medicine residency training at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston and then obtained advanced training through a clinical fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Harvard as well as a research fellowship at Brigham and Women's. Prior to joining the UT Southwestern faculty in 2026, Dr. Rogers served on the faculty at Stanford University, advancing from Assistant Professor in 2013 to Professor in 2025. A nationally recognized physician-scientist, Dr. Rogers leads research focused on acute respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis, critical illness, precision medicine, metabolomics, genomics, and immune responses in severe respiratory disease. Her work has advanced understanding of biologic subtypes of critical illness and identified novel biomarkers that may improve diagnosis, risk stratification, and treatment of patients with acute lung injury and respiratory failure. Dr. Rogers has held numerous leadership roles in pulmonary and critical care medicine education and research, including Director of Critical Care Research in the Department of Medicine at Stanford, Program Director of the Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship, and Associate Program Director of Stanford’s Internal Medicine Residency Program. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Thoracic Society, where she has served in multiple national leadership roles, including Chair of the Allergy, Immunology and Inflammation Assembly and as a member of the Society’s Board of Directors.
