Biography

Angela Guzzetta, M.D., is involved in resident training at UT Southwestern, having developed an endoscopic surgery curriculum for residents and served as an instructor for residents during surgery simulations. She is an author of texts that have appeared in the Johns Hopkins Patient Guide to Colon and Rectal Cancer, The SAGES Manual of Robotic Surgery, and The General Surgery Intern Handbook. Her other publications include articles on therapy for epithelial cancers, gene mutations in duodenal tumors, and biomarkers for detecting pancreatic cancer.

Dr. Guzzetta earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and performed a residency in general surgery at Rutgers University New Jersey Medical School. Afterwards, she completed a fellowship in minimally invasive gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery at UT Southwestern, where she now serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Surgery.
