Biography Margaret Gavor, M.D., M.P.H., is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Division of General Internal Medicine. Her clinical interests include women's health, obesity medicine, and chronic disease management. Originally from Ghana, Dr. Gavor holds a bachelor's degree in medical sciences from the University of Ghana in Accra, where she also received her medical degree. She then obtained a master's degree in health leadership and management at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, before completing internal medicine residency training at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital in Athens, Georgia. Prior to joining the UT Southwestern faculty in 2025, she provided primary care at a community-focused clinic within the Methodist Health System. Dr. Gavor's research interests include obesity medicine, women's health, and diabetes. Dr. Gavor is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Physicians and The Obesity Society.
