  • Biography

    Dr. Lydia Bazzano, MD, PhD, MPH is a physician-scientist who works at the intersection of clinical medicine, population health, and translational research. She has dual doctoral training in medicine and epidemiology, and a career focused on improving the prevention and management of chronic diseases across the life course through clinical investigation and patient-centered approaches to care.

    Dr. Bazzano has led and collaborated on multidisciplinary studies examining how lifestyle factors, clinical interventions, and health systems influence long-term outcomes, with an emphasis on turning research findings into practical tools for clinicians, patients, and policymakers. She has published widely in peer-reviewed journals, contributed to scientific conferences and professional societies, and is committed to advancing research that measurably improves health.

    In addition to her research, Dr. Bazzano is a dedicated educator and mentor. She teaches and advises medical trainees, graduate students, post-doctoral researchers, and early-career investigators, supporting their development in clinical reasoning, research design, and scientific communication. Her leadership roles have included service on institutional and national committees focused on research quality, training, and the responsible conduct of science.
