Beichen Hu, Ph.D.

Beichen Hu, Ph.D., is an Instructor of Radiation Oncology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He is part of the Department of Radiation Oncology’s Division of Medical Physics & Engineering, focusing on AI applications in medical imaging and radiation therapy.

Dr. Hu earned his Ph.D. in computer science from Southern Methodist University in 2024, where his research focused on machine learning-powered recommendations for scientific workflows and web services. Dr. Hu has also collaborated with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) on the development of nasa-ecopro.org, a platform designed for sharing and analyzing Earth science data. He also worked on tools to extract and analyze workflow structures, enhancing interoperability using large language models (LLMs), syntax analysis, and regular expression techniques.
