Biography Dr. Syed Ahmed, D.O. joined the UT Southwestern Medical Center in 2025 and is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology with a specialty in neuromuscular medicine. Dr. Ahmed received his medical degree from the UNTHSC Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed residency at the Dell Seton Medical Center in Austin, TX. He then went on to complete his fellowship in neuromuscular medicine at the Kansas University Medical Center where he gained proficiency in care of complex neuromuscular disorders along with neuromuscular pathology and nerve conduction studies. His clinical interests include muscle disorders including inflammatory, metabolic, and hereditary myopathies along with motor neuron disease. He also shares a particular interest in neuromuscular pathology. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is a member of multiple societies including The Myositis Association, American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and the American Academy of Neurology.
