For more information on the doctor and patient care, please visit the clinical profile. Biography Elyse K. Miller, M.D., is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics specializing in advanced cardiac care. Dr. Miller has held academic positions at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center as an Assistant Professor, practicing at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She also practiced at Cincinnati Children’s as an advanced fellow of pediatric heart failure and advanced cardiac therapies. Dr. Miller earned her medical degree at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Medicine and holds a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from VCU as well. She completed her pediatric residency and cardiology categorical fellowship training at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center/Medical College of Virginia. She joined the faculty at UT Southwestern in 2026. Dr. Miller's clinical focus includes the care of children and young adults with cardiomyopathy, heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, and post-transplant management. In her previous posisitions she lead quality improvement projects aimed at improving outcomes in pediatric heart transplant by decreasing early acute cellular rejection. Dr. Miller regularly leads educational activities for medical staff, residents, and fellows. Her research spans multi-institutional collaborations for pediatric cardio-oncology care, ventricular assist device therapies, pediatric heart failure, and pediatric heart transplantation. She has contributed to registry analyses and published original research in journals such as Pediatric Research and The Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation. Dr. Miller is a physician member of the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation, serves as a member of the Pediatric Committee of the International Cardio-Oncology Society, and serves on the leadership committee for the cardio-oncology section of Advanced Cardiac Therapies Improving Outcomes Network.
