  • Biography

    Muhammad Abu Zar, M.D., is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern and a member of its Division of Hospital Medicine.

    Dr. Abu Zar received his medical education at Rawalpindi Medical College in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. He then completed internal medicine residency training at Jacobi Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.

    Prior to joining the UT Southwestern faculty in 2025, Dr. Abu Zar served as a hospitalist at Montifiore Medical Center in New York. 

    His clinical and research interests include multiple myeloma, hematologic malignancies, and outcomes research, with a focus on systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and evidence-based treatment strategies.

    Dr. Abu Zar is an active contributor to peer-reviewed research and has authored numerous publications on hematology and oncology, particularly involving multiple myeloma therapies, transplant conditioning approaches, and supportive care in complex patient populations.
