Salim Aljabari, M.D.

Salim Aljabari, M.D., M.H.A., RPNI, FCCM, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, specializing in pediatric critical care medicine.

Dr. Aljabari has held academic positions at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) and Arkansas Children’s Hospital. At UAMS, he served as the Medical Director of Pediatric Neurocritical Care and the Quality Improvement Medical Director for the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU). Dr. Aljabari was also an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at University of Missouri Health Care and University of Missouri Children's Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

Dr. Aljabari's research and scholarly contributions span quality improvement, neurocritical care, and informatics. He has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presented his findings at national conferences. His previous leadership roles included medical informatics specialty leader, editor for UAMS Pediatric Guidelines, and physician champion for the hospital patient safety committee at the University of Missouri Children's Hospital.

Dr. Aljabari completed his medical degree at Al-Quds University Faculty of Medicine in Jerusalem, Palestine. He completed his pediatric residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Amarillo, Texas, where he served as Chief Resident. He gained advanced training through a fellowship in pediatric critical care at the University of Utah/Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital. Dr. Aljabari also earned a Master of Health Administration from the University of Missouri.

He is an active member of numerous professional societies, including the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the Pediatric Acute Lung Injury and Sepsis Investigators Network, the Pediatric Neurocritical Care Research Group, and the Neurocritical Care Society. Dr. Aljabari is fluent in English and Arabic.
