Biography Joined UT Southwestern: 2025 Clinical Interests: Dr. Taba specializes in epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology. He is board certified in neurology and clinical neurophysiology. He provides longitudinal care to the patients in the epilepsy clinic and he evaluates patietns with refractory epilepsy who are candidate for invasive EEG monitoring, surgical intervention and neuromodulation. Research: Dr. Taba's research background includes assessment of the criteria for seizure prediction in patients who undergo continuous EEG monitoring (2HELPS2B score), evaluating the impact of seizures and ictal-interictal continuum burden on the outcome of critically ill patients, and contributing to develop an expert-level deep neural network tool to detect seizures and ictal-interical continuum patterns. His current research interests are idenfiying patients with medication non-adherence as well as patients with pseudo-refractory epilepsy along with therapeutic and supporitve measures which can improve their care. He is also interested in studying epileptic brain networks as well as functional brain networks which maybe impaired in epileptic patients. Education: Dr. Taba is passionate about fellow and resident education. He works with the neurology residency program in the areas of epilepsy and outpatient training as well as research mentoring.
