Alyssa Shaffner, M.D., graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Abilene Christian University in 2016 before attending medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. She remained at UTMB for her general psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship training and graduated in June 2025. Throughout her training, she has been involved in the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists as well as the Texas Society of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists in which she has presented multiple sessions on mentorship, self-compassion, vulnerability, and advocacy.
