  • Biography

    Júlia Azevedo Miranda, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Abdominal Imaging Division. Her clinical interests include abdominal, genitourinary, and oncologic imaging.

    Before joining the faculty in 2025, Dr. Miranda practiced abdominal radiology in Brazil.
    Originally from São Luís, Maranhão, Brazil, Dr. Miranda received her medical degree from Universidade Federal Fluminense in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She then received radiology residency training at Hospital Sírio-Libanês in São Paulo, Brazil, and advanced training through an abdominal imaging fellowship program at the University of São Paulo in São Paulo, Brazil.
    Dr. Miranda focuses her research on genitourinary oncologic imaging, multiparametric MRI, and quantitative imaging biomarkers.
    At UT Southwestern, Dr. Miranda's commitment to education and training is evidenced by her involvement in radiology resident education and multidisciplinary genitourinary oncology conferences.
    Dr. Miranda is an active member of professional organizations, including the Society of Abdominal Radiology and the Sociedade Paulista de Radiologia e Diagnóstico por Imagem.
