For more information on the doctor and patient care, please visit the clinical profile. Biography Brittany Weber, M.D., Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern and a member of its Division of Cardiology. A cardio-immunologist, clinical investigaor, and imaging specialist, her work spans cardiology, rheumatology, dermatology, and immunology. He research integrates advanced imaging, molecular biology, clinical trials, and population health to understand how systemic inflammation and immune deregulation drive cardiovascular disease. She has an additional focus in recurrent pericarditis and the use of immune therapeutics. She serves as Director of the Cardio-Rheumatology/Cardio-Dermatology Program. Originally from Oklahoma, Dr. Weber holds a bachelor’s degree in biomedical science-zoology from the University of Oklahoma. She earned her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where she also earned her doctoral degree in immunology. She completed internal medicine residency training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH), where she served as a Chief Resident. She also obtained advanced training at BWH through fellowship programs in cardiology and an NIH-funded research fellowship on cardiovascular imaging. Prior to joining the UT Southwestern faculty in 2025, Dr. Weber served on the faculty at Harvard Medical School and Director of the Cardio-rheumatology Clinic at BWH, a nationally recognized clinic that integrates cardiovascular care with rheumatologic expertise, addressing inflammation-related heart disease through collaborative, patient-centered care. Dr. Weber’s research centers on the intersection of cardiology, rheumatology, and immunology, with a focus on how systemic inflammation and autoimmune diseases (such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, psoriasis,) contribute to cardiovascular dysfunction, including coronary microvascular disease, atherosclerosis, myocardial injury, and heart failure. She integrates advanced imaging techniques with biomarker analysis, mechanistic clinical trials, and population health studies to uncover mechanisms of disease and improve risk prediction. Dr. Weber's work is widely published in top-tier medical journals, reflecting the high impact and interdisciplinary relevance of her work. Her studies span from molecular immunology to advanced cardiovascular imaging and clinical innovation, earning her recognition as a thought leader in cardio-immunology. As a result, she is frequently invited to speak at national and international conferences, where she shares insights on inflammation-driven cardiovascular disease, autoimmune conditions, and translational care models that integrate cardiology and rheumatology.
