Bassel Dawod, M.D., Ph.D. Titles and Appointments Instructor School Medical School Department Radiation Oncology Biography Bassel Dawod, M.D., Ph.D., is an Instructor in the Molecular Medicine Section in the Department of Radiation Oncology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Dawod joined UT Southwestern after serving as a postdoctoral fellow in the INNATE clinical trial as part of the Aguilera Lab. Dr. Dawod received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Aleppo University in Syria. After completing a comprehensive residency and fellowship program in microbiology and immunology at Aleppo University, Dr. Dawod received his M.Sc. in microbiology and immunology and his Ph.D. in pathology from Dalhousie University in Canada. While working in the INNATE Trial, Dr. Dawod explored the combined effects of chemotherapy, radiation, and anti-CD40 immunotherapy on tumor microenvironments. His prior roles included overseeing participant care and protocol adherence in the CHILD Cohort Study at McMaster University and contributing to the development of immunotherapies in clinical and preclinical settings at IMV-Inc and Dalhousie University.
