Natalie Tapaskar, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Division of Cardiology. Her clinical interests include advanced heart failure, heart transplant, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, inherited/genetic cardiomyopathies, and left ventricular assist devices (LVADs). She considers it a great privilege to care for patients with advanced cardiovascular disease while striving to learn and advance the field every day.
Dr. Tapaskar earned her medical degree at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Ohio. She completed internal medicine residency training at the University of Chicago and received advanced training in cardiovascular medicine, advanced heart failure, and transplant cardiology through two fellowships at Stanford University.
Board certified in internal medicine and cardiology, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2024.
Dr. Tapaskar's research interests include advanced heart failure and transplantation, and cardiogenic shock. She has published several articles and abstracts in peer-reviewed journals and presented her findings at international scientific conferences.
Dr. Tapaskar is a member of several professional societies, including the American College of Cardiology, International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation, and The Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Medical Society.
When not at work, Dr. Tapaskar enjoys traveling, hiking, eating, and spending time with her family and their dog.
