Mingyue Li, M.P.H., Ph.D. Titles and Appointments Instructor School School of Public Health Department Public Health Biography Dr. Mingyue Li is a research instructor at UT Southwestern Medical Center. As a biostatistics trained epidemiologist, Dr. Li's long term career goal is to leverage my exertise in epidemiological study design and advaced statisticl analysis to address and reduce the burden of disease. Dr. Li research interest lies in molecular epidemiology, cavdiovscular disease and chronic kidney disease. Dr. Li's research on molecular epidemiology, emphasizing the genetic and enviromental factors influencing cancer risk and progression. I conducted statistical fine mapping and functional enrichment analyses of basal cell carcinoma risk loci. Additionally, she explored the assocation between plasma L-carnitine levels and leukocyte mitochondrial DNA copy number. Dr. Li's initiated the collaboration with national institute for public safety health. This reseach identified some novel risk factors of coronary artery calcium scores in firefighters and developed some machine learning algorithms to predict the CAC scores in firegfighters. Dr. Li is active reviewer for BMC cardiovascular disorders.
