Jennifer Coughlin, M.D. Professor Endowed Title Communities Foundation of Texas, Inc. Chair in Brain Science School Medical School Department Psychiatry | Peter O'Donnell Jr. Brain Institute You have reached the Academic Profile. For more information on the doctor and patient care, please visit the clinical profile. Biography Dr. Jennifer Coughlin is Professor and Director of the Molecular Imaging in the Psychiatry Program at UTSW Medical Center. She holds an adjunct appointment at the Johns Hopkins University. Her clinical expertise is in the diagnosis and treatment of mood disorders, with particular specialty in the young adult population. Dr. Coughlin’s research focuses on molecular neuroimaging techniques, particularly the use of novel radiotracers with positron emission tomography (PET). Recent research has focused on the contribution of the neuroimmune response to neurologic and psychiatric conditions spanning study of repeated, sports-related traumatic brain injury, psychosis, treatment-resistant mood disorders, Alzheimer’s disease, and healthy aging. She aims to inform the molecular understanding of neuropsychiatric conditions, and identify novel, precision therapies guided by imaging results.
