Biography Dr. Bitar is a board-certified anatomic, neuro- and pediatric pathologist with board eligibility in molecular pathology. She received sub specialization training in NY-Presbyterian Hospital Columbia University Medical Center, David Geffen School of Medicine, UCLA and the Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Dr. Bitar currently serve as Director of Pediatric Neuropathology at the Children’s Medical Center at the University of Texas Southwestern Dallas. Dr. Bitar clinical practice includes pediatric pathology, pediatric neuropathology and molecular pathology.Dr. Bitar research centers on the identification and characterization of molecular alterations in glial neoplasms, with the goal of advancing diagnostic precision and informing targeted therapeutic strategies.In addition to clinical and research responsibilities, Dr. Bitar is deeply committed to education. In addition to her teaching responsibilities in the pediatric pathology program, she leads multiple educational pathways in the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP) and the Society for Pediatric pathology (SPP). Through these efforts, she contributes to the training and mentorship of the next generation of pathologists and physician-scientists.
