Biography

Madhuri D. Patil, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Division of Endocrinology. She holds a secondary appointment in the Charles and Jane Pak Center for Mineral Metabolism and Clinical Research, and specializes in metabolic bone diseases such as osteoporosis, as well as calcium and phosphorus metabolism, general endocrine disorders, and endocrine disorders in cancer patients.

Dr. Patil earned her medical degree at B.J. Medical College in Pune, India, and completed a clinical management of diabetes mellitus residency at St. John’s Medical College Hospital in Bangalore, in collaboration with the University of New Castle in Australia. She later completed internal medicine residency training at UT Tyler and Christus Good Shepherd Medical Center and received advanced training in endocrinology and metabolism through fellowships at Baylor College of Medicine and MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism, Dr. Patil joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2023.

Dr. Patil has written several peer-reviewed articles and delivered numerous oral presentations.

Outside of work, Dr. Patil enjoys gardening, soil and water conservation projects, cooking, designing spaces using architecture software, and exploring trails.
