Biography Ruban Dhaliwal, M.D., M.P.H., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Division of Endocriniology. She holds a secondary appointment in the Charles and Jane Pak Center for Mineral Metabolism and Clinical Research. Her clinical activites are based at William P. Clements Jr and, Zale-Lipshy University Hospitals, Parkland Hospital, and Parkland clinics. She is a passionate clinician with a focus on bone and mineral disorders, including rare disorders. The education of our learners must be valued as highly as the service needs of our patients. Excellence in clinical care, facilitation of clinical research that informs best practices in the care of patients, and teaching future physicians and other members of the interdisciplinary teams supports my goal of improving the health and well-being of my patients and all patients. Dr. Dhaliwal earned her medical degree at Vinnica National Medical University in Ukraine. She received internal medicine residency training at North Shore-LIJ Hospital in New York where she was also Chief Resident. She recieved additional training in endocrinology as a research scholar at Winthrop University Hospital, followed by a fellowship in endocrinology and diabetes & metabolism at State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate Medical Universty, where she also earned a Master of Public Health degree. Board certified in internal medicine and endocrinology, Dr. Dhaliwal joined the UT Southwestern Medical Center faculty in 2023. Prior to joining UT Southwestern, Dr. Dhaliwal served as Director of Metabolic Bone Disease Center and Director of the Bone Densitometry Program at (SUNY) Upstate Medical University, where she also held appointments in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism, and the Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine. Dr. Dhaliwal prioritized quality improvement, patient education, and community service. She served on numerous committees and participated in several opportunities to mentor. In addition, she accepted multiple speaking invites on topics relating to bone and skeletal health, diabetes, fracture risk, hormone replacement therapy, osteoporosis, and SGLT2 Inhibitors among others. Dr. Dhaliwal has been published various peer-reviewed research journals including the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, Osteoporosis International, and Cancer Management and Research, among countless others.
