Hong, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in pediatric surgery. Dr. Hong earned his medical degree at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He completed a residency in general surgery at New York University Langone Health and a fellowship in pediatric surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. He also completed a research fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Certified by the American Board of Surgery in general surgery and pediatric surgery, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2023. His interests include pediatric colorectal and pelvic malformations, intestinal failure, short bowel syndrome, neonatal surgery, and surgical education. Dr. Hong has delivered presentations, written book chapters, and published numerous academic articles related to his areas of expertise.
