Biography

Amisha Ahuja, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Division of Digestive and Liver Diseases. She specializes in gastroenterology, particularly disorders of gut-brain interaction.

Dr. Ahuja earned her medical degree at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. She completed an internal medicine residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and received advanced training through a gastroenterology fellowship at Temple University Hospital. She holds a master’s degree in urban bioethics from Temple University, where she also serves as Adjunct Assistant Professor.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Ahuja joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2023.

Dr. Ahuja’s clinical and research interests include disorders of gut-brain interaction, medical ethics, medical humanities, and food as medicine. She has delivered numerous presentations, published several academic articles related to her areas of expertise, and has frequently written for the lay press.
