  • Biography

    Karanjit Sandhu, M.D., is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Division of Cardiology. His clinical interests include non-invasive cardiac imaging, nuclear cardiology, and structural heart disease. 

    Dr. Sandhu holds a bachelor's degree from Khalsa College in Amritsar, India and earned his medical degree at Kasturba Medical College in Mangalore. He received internal medicine residency training at Rochester General Hospital in New York, and completed additional training in cardiovascular medicine through a fellowship at Einstein Medical Cener in Pennsylvania.

    Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Sandhu joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2023.

    Dr. Sandhu's research interests include the role of psychological health in cardiovascular diseases, cardiovascular screening in athletes, physician well-being in the current medical era, and the effects of bureaucratic burden in health care. His investigations have resulted in publications in peer-reviewed journals and he has delivered presentations at conferences.

    Dr. Sandhu is an active member of the American College of Cardiology. 

    Outside of work, Dr. Sandhu enjoys reading, nature hiking, playing racquet sports like tennis and badminton, and studying courses like psychology, philosophy, and epistemology.
