Biography

Poorni Manohar, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Division of Hematology and Oncology.

I appreciate being part of a multidisciplinary team that works to help patients navigate the physical and emotional challenges that come with a cancer diagnosis.

Dr. Manohar earned her medical degree at the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. After completing a residency in internal medicine at the University of Michigan Hospital, she gained advanced training in hematology and oncology through a fellowship at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center at the University of Washington, where she served as Chief Fellow.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2023.

Dr. Manohar is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. She has published several articles and reviews in peer-reviewed journals related to her areas of interest.

In 2020, she earned a Merit Award at the American Society of Clinical Oncology Quality Care Symposium.

Personal Note

When she’s not at work, Dr. Manohar enjoys traveling, hiking, and cooking.
