Ramya Deepthi Billa, M.D.

Ramya Deepthi Billa, M.D., is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in pediatric cardiology and cardiac critical care at Children’s Medical Center Dallas.

Dr. Billa has held academic positions at Children’s Hospital of Michigan as a Pediatric Hospitalist as well as a Medical Officer in the General Medicine and Surgery Division at both Sunshine Hospitals in Secunderabad, India, and Prime Hospital in Hyderabad. She joined the UTSW faculty in 2023.

Dr. Billa’s clinical and research interests include cardiac critical care, pediatric cardiology, venous thromboembolism and multidisciplinary approaches to care in the pediatric intensive care setting.

Dr. Billa earned her medical degree from Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad, India. She completed a residency in general pediatrics at Ascension St. John Hospital and Medical Center (now Henry Ford St. John Hospital) in Detroit, Michigan, and a fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital in Iowa City. She gained additional experience with a fellowship in pediatric cardiac critical care at Children’s Wisconsin and the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.

Dr. Billa is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
