Biography Victoria Chung, D.O., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Division of Hematology and Oncology. She specializes in gastrointestinal cancers. Originally from Tampa, Florida, Dr. Chung holds a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of South Florida. She earned her medical degree from Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine. She received internal medicine residency training at Ochsner Health in New Orleans, where she also completed a fellowship in hematology and oncology and served as Chief Fellow. Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine and medical oncology, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2024. Prior to joining UT Southwestern she worked as a Hospitalist at the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Chung's research interests include socioeconomic determinants of health and quality improvement. Her investigations have resulted in publications in peer-reviewed journals and poster presentations at national conferences. Dr. Chung is active in the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, and the American College of Physicians. Outside of medicine, Dr. Chung enjoys cooking, travel, reading, and spending time with family.
