  • Biography

    Gloria Ayuba, D.O., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Division of Cardiology. She also serves as Director of Structural Imaging at UT Southwestern and Parkland Health. Her clinical interests include valvular heart disease and advanced cardiac imaging.

    Dr. Ayuba holds a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Missouri. She earned her medical degree at A.T. Still University-Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Missouri. She completed internal medicine residency training at William Beaumont University Hospital in Michigan, where she served as Chief Resident and completed fellowship training in cardiovascular disease. She received additional training in advanced cardiac imaging through a fellowship at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.

    Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in cardiovascular disease, the Board of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance, the National Board of Echocardiography, and the Board of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, Dr. Ayuba joined the UT Southwestern Faculty in 2023.

    Dr. Ayuba's research interests include structural echocardiography, valvular heart disease, and multimodal cardiac imaging in valve disease. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed scientific journals and she has contributed to book chapters. In addition, she has also delivered presentations and presented her findings at conferences.

    Dr. Ayuba likes to travel and enjoys playing squash and tennis in her free time.
