Biography Elizabeth Brunner, M.D., is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Division of Allergy and Immunology. She specializes in chronic hives (urticaria), allergic rhinitis, and drug allergies. Dr. Brunner holds a bachelor's degree in science pre-professional and psychology from the University of Notre Dame. Dr. Brunner earned her medical degree at the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences. She completed a residency in internal medicine at Baylor College of Medicine and received advanced training through an allergy and immunology fellowship at UT Southwestern. She joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2025. Dr. Brunner’s research interests center on allergy and immunology with a focus on diagnostic testing, allergen cross‑reactivity, and clinical management of allergic diseases. Her work spans accelerated Hymenoptera venom testing in pediatric patients, the relationship between maternal stress and childhood asthma, advances in cephalosporin allergy evaluation, IgE binding patterns in shellfish allergy, and clinical case studies involving food allergy and chronic urticaria. Together, her publications and presentations reflect a commitment to improving diagnostic accuracy, understanding immunologic mechanisms of allergic reactions, and enhancing clinical care for patients with complex allergic conditions.
