Bella Etingen, Ph.D. Titles and Appointments Assistant Professor School School of Public Health Department Public Health Biography Download Curriculum Vitae Bella Etingen, PhD, is an Assistant Professor for the Peter O'Donnell Jr. School of Public Health in the Health Economics, Systems, and Policy Departmentand. She is also a Research Health Scientist within the Veterans Health Administration’s (VHA) Health Systems Research (HSR) service. Dr. Etingen received a BS in Psychology, MA in Applied Social Psychology, and PhD in Applied Social Psychology from Loyola University Chicago. Her methodological expertise encompasses mixed-methods research, program evaluation, implementation science, and community and stakeholder engagement. Dr. Etingen has over a decade of experience supporting the learning healthcare system through leading and conducting health services and implementation projects within VHA. Her work spans three main focus areas: (1) implementation and evaluation of Whole Health care, (2) implementation and evaluation of connected care technologies, and (3) development of strategies to bolster Veteran engagement in care, with a particular focus on mental health care, including through the development and testing of stakeholder-driven interventions and other promising practices. Dr. Etingen is also a passionate educator, with over a decade of experience teaching courses focused on applied research methods, statistics, and psychological theory.
