    Bella Etingen, PhD, is an Assistant Professor for the Peter O'Donnell Jr. School of Public Health in the Health Economics, Systems, and Policy Departmentand. She is also a Research Health Scientist within the Veterans Health Administration’s (VHA) Health Systems Research (HSR) service.  

     

    Dr. Etingen received a BS in Psychology, MA in Applied Social Psychology, and PhD in Applied Social Psychology from Loyola University Chicago. Her methodological expertise encompasses mixed-methods research, program evaluation, implementation science, and community and stakeholder engagement.  

     

    Dr. Etingen has over a decade of experience supporting the learning healthcare system through leading and conducting health services and implementation projects within VHA. Her work spans three main focus areas: (1) implementation and evaluation of Whole Health care, (2) implementation and evaluation of connected care technologies, and (3) development of strategies to bolster Veteran engagement in care, with a particular focus on mental health care, including through the development and testing of stakeholder-driven interventions and other promising practices. 

     

    Dr. Etingen is also a passionate educator, with over a decade of experience teaching courses focused on applied research methods, statistics, and psychological theory.
