Biography

Adan (Adam) Mora Jr., M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.

A native Texan, Dr. Mora holds a bachelor's degree in biology and chemistry from St. Mary's University in San Antonio. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, where he also completed internal medicine and pediatrics residency training, followed by advanced training in pulmonary and critical care medicine. 

A Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine in critical care, pulmonary diseases, and internal medicine, Dr. Mora joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2023.

I strongly believe in a physician's role as a champion for vulnerable populations and I want to work to address healthcare disparities for a variety of patients.

Dr. Mora's research interests include pulmonary disorders, such as pulmonary embolism, hemorrhage, and lung injuries. He has published numerous peer-reviewed articles, abstracts, presentations, and lectures. His clinical interests include critical care management of obstetric and transgender patients as well as code blue resuscitation in the intensive care unit.

A Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians, Dr. Mora is also a member of the American Thoracic Society and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.

Personal Note

Dr. Mora's interests outside of medicine include traveling, reading, hiking, theater, and chamber music.
