Shafiei, M.D., is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Division of Hospital Medicine. Dr. Shafiei earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch. He completed an internal medicine residency at Baylor University Medical Center. Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Shafiei joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2023. Dr. Shafiei is a member of the Dallas County Medical Society, the Texas Medical Association, the American Medical Association, and the American College of Physicians. His clinical interests include general internal medicine, quality improvement, and medical education. In the past, he served as a manuscript reviewer for Cardiorenal Medicine as well as Diabetes, Obesity, and Metabolism. Additionally, he has delivered several presentations and published peer-reviewed articles related to his areas of expertise.
